- Must be negotiating a full-time group leader position at an institute/university in the eligible countries by the date of application OR have established a laboratory in an eligible country in the last 2 years
- Must have spent at least 2 consecutive years outside the country in which they are planning to establish their laboratory in the 4 years prior to application
- Must have received PhD less than 9 years prior to application

- Up to 10% of the grant will be allowed for overheads
- Up to 20% of the grant can be used towards the salary of the successful applicant
- EMBO offers other financial and practical benefits, e.g. grantees can also apply for small grants of up to 10,000 EUR from funds provided by EMBO Council |
