Applicant's Level of Experience (years after PhD) Applicants must either be in possession of a doctoral degree, independently of the time taken to acquire it, or have at least four years of full-time equivalent research experience (including the period of research training) after the degree which formally allowed them to embark on a doctorate in the country in which the degree was obtained or in the country where the fellowship is taking place. Example: Italian applicants not holding a PhD must have at least four years of full research experience after the attainment of a laurea magistralis in order to be eligible. Candidates who only have a “laurea breve/triennale” are not eligible.

Other Important Requirements Outgoing fellowships: for researchers who have worked in Italy for more than three years out of the last four years, interested in a research experience in a scientific institution located in a different country than Italy. 1) Applicants must have legally resided and have had their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Italy for at least three out of the last four years prior to the relevant deadline for submission; 2) The Host Institution's premises must be located in a different country than Italy; 3) Applicants must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of the hosting organization for more than twelve months in the three years prior to the relevant deadline for submission; Incoming Fellowships: for non-Italian scientists interested in a research experience in a scientific institution located in Italy. 1) Applicants must be non-Italian; 2) the Host Institution's premises must be located in Italy. 3) Applicants must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Italy for more than twelve months in the three years prior to the relevant deadline for submission. Reintegration Fellowships: for Italian researchers who have worked in a country outside Italy for at least two out of the last three years, and who wish to return and work in a research center in Italy. 1) Applicants must be Italian; 2) The Host Institution's premises must be located in Italy; 3) Applicants must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Italy for more than twelve months in the three years prior to the relevant deadline for submission.

Working contract (gross salary) The financial support provided comprises: 1) living and mobility allowance: this allowance is calculated multiplying a flat rate of € 50.000/year by the correction coefficient of the country of the Host Institution (established for the PEOPLE Work Programme 2013); 2) travel allowance: up to € 1.000/year, to cover a roundtrip ticket/year from the place of origin (or the home country, whichever applies) to the country of the Host Institution; 3) research cost contribution: up to € 1.500/year to participate to a scientific meeting.
